Over 150 upper class students will be serving as Peer Mentors in the more than 20 Iowa State University Learning Communities with ties to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) for the 2017-2018 academic year. Mentors help new students in the college make the transition to life at Iowa State. These selected Peer Mentors are often involved with organizing study groups, social events, and out-of-class activities. ICC celebrated 2017 Commencement on May 20, 2017. More than 300 students participated in the ceremony.

Illinois Central College presented Dean's List honors to students who earned a grade point average of 3.5 - 3.99 on a 4.0 scale for the Spring 2017 semester.

Students named to the University of Iowa spring 2017 Dean's List

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within each division for second semester 2016-17 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic excellence.

Illinois Central College welcomed students who accepted membership into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. The local chapter is Upsilon Mu at ICC.

Eighty-seven incoming first-year College of Human Sciences students participated in Orientation at Iowa State University in Ames, June 6-7. As part of the program, students and their families met peers, signed up for classes, became familiar with the campus, and learned tips for making the most of their college careers.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

More than 2,000 students received bachelor's degrees from Georgia State University during the week of May 8, 2017.

Each semester, COMM 113 students participate in mock job interviews for their desired career. The class watches the interview and votes for the student they think did the best. Congratulations to Irina Riggenbach, of Peoria, Ill., who won the most votes to become the best interviewer in all COMM 113 sections! Thank you to her interview volunteer, Crystal Holley of Petersen Hotels.
